Mardi Gras 2011 with Community Connections

Community Connections Jacksonville had their annual fundraiser last night and I shot some pictures to help out. Always fun and I got try my Orbis Ring Flash adapter out on an event shoot. Work well I think.

100 Faces Part 1

Here's the first of a set of 100 portraits I am doing for Community Connections Jacksonville to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of this wonderful organization. We are shooting portraits of 100 people that have been part of the organization, donors, volunteers and clients, to show how interwoven the lives of people in the community are through the work done there.

Doing a bit of the hyper real look with photoshop trying to give it a bit of punch.

Some things just seem to happen when you take your camera out of the bag.
Take for example this guy.
I was just going to test the camera out back with pictures of the fence when I saw him hanging around.
I thought " he's gonna move just like every other lizard I've tried to take a picture of before I get one shot off ". Just then he grabbed a passing dragonfly and proceeded to have supper as I photographed him for about 5 minutes.

This is where it starts I guess.
Throw up some photos, talk a little smack and hope some one takes a peek.
Here's a picture of my buddy Luis and his son Lucas in their back yard. Thank god for nice red walls and a father and son enjoying each others company during a photo shoot.
Plus some nice dad powered superman action.
